Richmond Zombie Walk

Richmond, Virginia's Zombie Walk has become an annual tradition attracting young and old undead from all across the east coast. At its heart, the Richmond Zombie Walk is a fundraising parade benefiting various charities. We have costume contests and sometimes stage zombie attacks on poor innocent bystanders (all in the name of fun). So put on your bloody best and join the horror show!

2015, WE COME FOR YOU!

September 17, 2015 by DeadMason

Time to get things all blow’d up. KABOOM!

Oh how the time flies when you’ve got nothing to do but pick maggots out your own rotting flesh.

RICHMOND, WE COME FOR YOU!

After months of scavenging for rodents along the sewers of the James River, your zombie masters have returned to the surface and are hungry for human flesh and BRAAAAAINS.

WHEN?

The 11th Annual Richmond Zombie Walk will take place on Saturday, October 24th. Pre-walk meet up/staging area location at 1pm will be held at Boat Lake at Byrd Park (on Boat Lake Drive) and the actual walk will begin on the sidewalk in front of Kroger (3507 W Cary St, Richmond, VA 23221) in Carytown  immediately after at about 2:30p.

WHERE?

This year, as always, we will walk Carytown. And that’s it. You will find that it is exhausting to lumber around just after a few blocks. In previous years some of the locations that we walked based on popular suggestions have been “hit or miss”. We lose attendance with each new location, and there is some confusion with our out-of-town undead.

***Reminder***
Plan your rides! This starting point is not at the meet up spot/staging area!

CONTESTS:

Here are a few of the categories we’ll be judging. Prizes will be awarded at the pre-walk meet up.

– Most Disgusting

– Best Couple/Group Theme

– Best Pop Culture Theme (TV/Movie/Comic/Gaming)

– Best Zombie Kid

– 2015 Zombie of the Year (Best Overall)

OUR PURPOSE:

Our activities this year will benefit The American Cancer Society. Again,we won’t require anyone to make a donation, but if everyone can pitch in $5 each, it will be much appreciated. Let’s raise even more money this year than we have in the past!

Again, stay tuned for upcoming information and details. If you have any questions, ideas or would like to help out in any way, send us a message at info@richmondzombiewalk.com

BRAAAIIINS!

Mmm, 2013 brains are delicious

October 28, 2013 by DeadMason

2010RVA, you’re brains are delicious!

We were fortunate enough to have the weather cooperate this year and the event ran perfectly. Thanks to everyone (alive and undead) who came out to support us and the American Cancer Society. You all contributed over $500 in donations this year. Fantastic! We appreciate every single penny.

Congratulations to all of our costume contest winners. They really do get harder to judge every year because you guys rock the house like that.

Special thanks to Abigail Larson for her talented work on our event posters. We are very lucky to have her. Stay tuned for next year’s special 10th anniversary poster.

Yes, next year is our 10th anniversary! It’s big deal, so expect big deal things to happen.

Thanks to Colonial Shooting Academy, Richmond Brewery Tours, RVA Magazine, everyone who shared their photographs and videos of the event, and thanks to you – my little rotten walkers.

Stinking smooches to all. Until next year.
