Richmond Zombie Walk

Richmond, Virginia's Zombie Walk has become an annual tradition attracting young and old undead from all across the east coast. At its heart, the Richmond Zombie Walk is a fundraising parade benefiting various charities. We have costume contests and sometimes stage zombie attacks on poor innocent bystanders (all in the name of fun). So put on your bloody best and join the horror show!

The Walking Dead Marathon

October 6, 2013 by DeadMason

The Walking Dead Season 4
The Walking Dead Season 4 premieres on Sunday October 13th at 9/8c

Board up the windows, don’t go anywhere without a weapon and be silent.. Nah! GET UP AND SCREAM! The Walking Dead marathon all week! At least 5 episodes a night every night this week until the Season 4 Premiere episode, “30 Days Without an Incident” on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8c.

You’ll get to relive every tense moment in Season 1. My favorite.. But seriously? 5 every night? October really is the best month of the year.

Richmond Zombie Walk on Facebook!
Richmond Zombie Walk on Facebook!

It could be argued that everyone on Facebook are zombies, but let’s not get into that. We’ve been lurking there for quite some time and unless you’re… A.) all mush in the head, B.) trapped under something heavy without a WiFi connection, or C.) just not from around here (RVA), then you may have not noticed that a couple of us are still aware enough between large helpings of coma-inducing brains to log into a few social networks.

For the uninitiated go and join the Richmond Zombie Walk Facebook group, where the RVA dead come to mumble and groan about local undead things. If you’re looking for an “official” word from your Richmond zombie overlords, just “like” us on our official Richmond Zombie Walk Facebook page. There you’ll get the feed on all things Richmond Zombie Walk. Hold up, you’re going to the main event, right? This is what we’re all about! Let the world know that you are attending the greatest annual Halloween event in Richmond at the event page for our 9th Annual Richmond Zombie Walk. AAAAND if that wasn’t enough, we sometimes get a few words out in the form of tweets every now and then. You can follow us on Twitter at @RVAZombieWalk.

Or you could just come here to RichmondZombieWalk.com – the hub of our online zombie existence. You’re always welcome and we hope that you enjoy your stay.  If you could remove your hats and lean forward you can pay your bill right now… *CHOMP

Things that make you go “Eeeew”.

HUUUNGRY! HUNGRY JACK!
HUUUNGRY! HUNGRY JACK!

Lately Hollywood has been cranking out some truly sad horror films that aren’t even worthy enough to make any fan’s horror-boners twitch even a little. Well, the Evil Dead remake was good and Warm Bodies was stupid, but it somehow passed with it’s cuteness. Anyways, forget that Romeo and Juliet rip off!

Where’s the blood and guts!? When I go to a horror flick, the seats are returned to its upright and locked position and my mind goes on auto-pilot. Basking in the weird, shocking, crimson splatter of shredded flesh and fatal bite wounds (if I’m lucky). I’ll admit that I am no blood scholar, but I did run into this list of great films on BuzzFeed  that will definitely fill your quota psychopaths and supernatural disembodiment. They give you the tour, in chronological order, of films from the obvious favorite Texas Chainsaw Massacre to that bizarre Italian flick previously condemned as a snuff film, Cannibal Holocaust. It’s a  great variety of gross-out subgenres that I need to add to my “to-do” list.

So for those of you with the stomach, get on over to BuzzFeed and explore its 25 Great Gory Horror Films.

We all live in a zombie world, right?

Kentucky Fried Carcass logo by Ben Fellowes

Let’s face it. The zombie apocalypse is coming and there’s nothing we can do but accept it. We’ll have to eventually cater to our fellow citizens upon integrating this new demographic into society.

Artist Ben Fellowes has taken a stab at re-imagining some of our most famous logos to appeal to the undead. That is, if they have any eyes left to recognize anything. Playboy, Starbucks, FedEx.. you get it.

Check ’em out here.

It’s going to be a lot of fun and plus.. think of all the brains in attendance. Mmmm..
