Richmond Zombie Walk

Richmond, Virginia's Zombie Walk has become an annual tradition attracting young and old undead from all across the east coast. At its heart, the Richmond Zombie Walk is a fundraising parade benefiting various charities. We have costume contests and sometimes stage zombie attacks on poor innocent bystanders (all in the name of fun). So put on your bloody best and join the horror show!

Let’s kill zombies for our next vacation!

September 12, 2011 by DeadMason

What do you do when the zombie apocalypse comes while you’re on your next vacation? You sack up and grab the biggest weapon you can find.

Dead Island (out now) looks pretty damn amazing. This first person gaming experience utilizes an open-world format that goes beyond the all-melee zombie games of yore. Customizable weaponry, vehicular slaughter, RPG gameplay. wha?!

If you have the means, and especially if you’re a fan of the genre (FPS and/or zombies), pick this thing up now!

Still not convinced? How about 20 minutes of gameplay footage?

Now get out there and be somebody!

Kill some time: Top 10 Zombie Apps

September 27, 2009 by DeadMason

Zombie Apps - perfect for KILLING time.
Zombie Apps - perfect for KILLING time.

The last time I played a good iPhone app I lost a couple fingers. There are so many good zombie games out there – Alive 4-ever, Zombieville USA, Attack from the Dead, Zombie Attack!, Zombie Invasion, Zombie Nombie, SurrounDead, etc.

Personally, I’d go with Zombieville USA, but PocketGamer.co.uk can give you a rundown of all the best ones.

Check ’em out!

“..it is not in man to make such sounds”

September 16, 2009 by DeadMason

i absolutely love tales of horror told with a sophisticated tongue, but i used to hate trudging through the language in print – carefully deciphering the pacing of each odd phrase while mentally sounding out each syllable. in junior high this kind of literature was force fed to me. no wonder my comprehension slipped. it has only recently occurred to me that i don’t need to dwell on these details to understand what’s going on.

if you have a little time and want to slip in the autumn/halloween spirit, read “Herbert West: The Reanimator”, a series of 6 short stories written by H.P. Lovecraft, which defined the modern zombie archetype. Read it!

THEN, you can play the de-animator flash game. it’s easy, use your mouse to aim and click to fire your revolver. it takes a bit of time to reload, so kill the zombies with plenty of distance. remember, not all zombies go down the same so head shots don’t always work. when you find the shotgun, hit the shift key to toggle between weapons. couldn’t get past the fourth stage. rrgggh. have fun.
